Rocío Raña, Ph.D.
Dr. Raña Risso has 20 years of experience in the translation, interpretation, and education industry. She is the co-founder and director of Langalo Inc., a Research Associate at the Research Institute for the Study of Language in Urban Society (RISLUS) located at the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY), and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Romance Languages Department at Hunter College, CUNY. She has worked extensively as a translator, editor, project manager, researcher, and professor. She earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics and a Master’s degree in Translation from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her academic background also includes degrees in English, Spanish, and French Translation and Interpretation. Since 2002, Dr. Raña Risso has been teaching Translation, Medical Interpretation, Spanish, Medical Spanish, and Linguistics at Langalo, NYU School of Medicine, Hunter College and Queens College of the City University of New York. In 2011, Dr. Raña Risso earned a translation certification from the American Translators Association (ATA).
